Staycation Ideas For the Whole Family

A staycation can be a great way to save money and time, as well as to visit places that you may not normally go in your own “backyard.” For those of us who live in Southern California, there are a lot of great places to go! Here are a few awesome staycation ideas to consider:

Be a tourist for a day…or two. There’s a list of must-see things that tourists go to when they visit the golden state that many of us call home. When was the last time that you did some or all of those things? For an example, head to Hollywood and book an open-air, sightseeing tour from a company such as Access Hollywood.

Go on a hike. There are so many places to hike for nearly every skill and preference. One of our favorite hikes in the Inland Empire area is Johnson’s Pasture in the Claremont Wilderness Park. This trail rewards hikers with benches along the way that offer scenic views of the valley below.

Explore with the Metrolink. Leave your car, skip the traffic and don’t worry about parking when you take the Metrolink. Many LA-commuters take the Metrolink for work, but for those of us who live and work in the Inland Empire, we never “hop on.” The Metrolink can be a fun way for families to experience places such as Chinatown, Olvera Street and Hollywood Boulevard. You can anywhere on weekends for only $10 with the Weekend Day Pass.
