Wires are a fast and secure method to send money electronically from one account to another. Since no physical funds are transferred during a wire transfer, they are a quick method of sending money between financial institutions. They are often used for large or international transactions.

Once you send money via Wire Transfer, there little to no chance you’ll be able to get it back. This makes Wires a favorite choice of some scammers. Be sure you can verify the identity of the recipient and can confirm you trust them before sending anything. If you are speaking with an individual or business online or over the phone who says that Wire Transfers are the only way to pay or is pressuring you to send it quickly, take a step back and evaluate the situation before taking the next step.
